Terry Jones
Senior Consultant

Terry has had a dynamic, hands-on career organizing and leading fundraising departments in not-for-profit organizations. He has served as the chief development officer for a public university, a private college and a major performing arts center.

As a consultant to higher education institutions and other non-profit organizations Terry focuses on capital campaigns, building boards, and improving major gift fundraising capacity. His strengths include team-building, team leadership, strategic planning with senior staff, volunteers and boards of directors, and solid communication and interpersonal skills.

As the Vice President for Development at the Orange County Performing Arts Center, Terry lead the collaborative effort between senior management and the board of directors to design, launch and manage an ambitious and successful capital expansion campaign that raised over $160 million.

As Pitzer College’s Vice President of College Advancement, Terry successfully revamped the fundraising operation and dramatically increased the major gift donor pool to successfully complete a stalled building campaign.

Prior to that Terry served as the Director of the U.C.I. Campaign at the University of California, Irvine. He planned and directed the institution’s first comprehensive capital fund drive managing both volunteers and staff to successfully raise over $100 million for campus-wide programs.

Terry earned his BA and MA degrees from the University of Michigan. He enjoys hiking, adventure travel and spending time with his young grandchildren. He and his wife live in Newport Beach, California.
